Sri Nona was established in 1988 in Kuala Lumpur. In 1989, the company launched its first range of Nona products, the first step in a venture into the Muslim Halal food market. The project proved to be a huge success, leading to the incorporation of Sri Nona Food Industries Sdn Bhd, which is to be responsible solely for the production and development of Nona products.

Nona ketupat (rice cake), oyster sauce, ginger drinks, kaya (coconut jam) and other Malaysian authentic food products are Sri Nona's largest and most diverse product group. This innovative product portfolio builds on an understanding of local tastes and cooking styles to deliver high quality and convenience.

The Nona brand is a true Malaysia house brand. Developing convenient products and moving products into new markets are part of Nona brand's heritage.

Ever since the incorporation of Sri Nona Food Industries Sdn Bhd, the company has been enjoying booming sales and wide acceptance by consumers. At the same time, the company received many enquiries from abroad and decided to take the opportunity to venture into overseas markets. As a result of cooperation with MATRADE and other governmental institutions, Sri Nona successfully penetrated foreign markets, especially countries such as USA, UK, Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Singapore.
